One hundred kilos of dynamite and a record-breaking performance: this is the blasting that will enable the Huerna bypass. Perforaciones Noroeste is behind most of the blasting projects performed in our country and will be in charge of carrying out this emergency work which will require ‘80 holes of between three and six metres’. Work will continue on the Huerna motorway to temporarily set up a bypass with a single lane in each direction to allow vehicles and lorries to circulate on the AP-66.

Perforaciones Noroeste has begun the works of slope stabilisation for ASCH and Grupo Terratest (UTE Pantalla 1). Deadline for the execution of the work is 12 months.

The works are being carried out with drilling equipment with hammer head and 89mm diameter, as reflected in the photograph. With the exploitation of the arid of this quarry, we meet the expectations of providing service to the demand of all the industry located in Santander.

For the development of this seminar, the University of Jaen had the best experts in the sector, among them Cristóbal Lombardía representing Perforaciones Noroeste. Besides strengthening our presence and prestige in the sector, it also contributed to the professional development of the attendees and the commitment to continuous innovation. The seminar was an opportunity to create a specific learning space about Blasting Vibration and facilitated networking in the mining and civil engineering sector.

Cristobal Lombardia on behalf of Perforaciones Noroeste has participated in the first European Shotfirer course given by EPC Groupe in Spain at the Higher Polytechnic School of Linares. The course was held from 21st to 25th May and was designed as a training course according to the requirements valid for European gunners. The project was financed by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.

The accuracy of the technique used is shown, where each explosive charge was calculated and placed with precision. The result is a safer operation for our personnel and a lower environmental impact, avoiding the dispersion of material that could affect surrounding areas. Controlled blasting not only improves the efficiency of our operations, but also reflects our commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability.
